TVS Orbiter Electric Scooter Unveiled at EICMA 2026 With Up to 105 km Range

TVS Motor Company has brought its electric mobility ambitions to the European market with the unveiling of the European-specification TVS Orbiter electric scooter at EICMA 2026 in Milan, Italy. Designed primarily for everyday urban commuting, the electric scooter focuses on practicality, comfort, connected technology and flexible battery options.

The TVS Orbiter is one of three electric models showcased by the Indian manufacturer at this year’s EICMA, alongside the M1-S and TVS X. While the other models target different segments of electric mobility, the Orbiter has been developed specifically for daily city journeys, offering two battery configurations to suit different commuting requirements.

With a choice of 1.8 kWh and 3.1 kWh lithium-ion batteries, the TVS Orbiter electric scooter promises an expected range of up to 105 km on the European WMTC cycle. It also gets features such as cruise control, Hill Hold, Reverse Parking Assist and smartphone connectivity.

TVS Orbiter Electric Scooter: Design and Styling

The TVS Orbiter follows a minimalist design approach with clean, straight body lines and an aerodynamic profile. The overall styling focuses on practicality rather than an aggressive or sporty appearance, making it suitable for everyday urban use.

The front features a Crystal LED headlamp, complemented by LED turn indicators and an LED tail lamp. For its European debut, the scooter is showcased in two colour options: Lunar Grey and Stratos Blue. TVS has also indicated that additional colour options will follow.

In terms of dimensions, the scooter measures 1,855 mm in length, 728 mm in width and 1,284 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 1,330 mm and ground clearance of 165 mm.

The 760 mm seat height, wide handlebar and long, flat seat are designed to provide a comfortable and upright riding position. Another practical highlight is its 34-litre under-seat storage compartment, offering sufficient space for everyday essentials.

TVS Orbiter Electric Motor and Performance

Powering the TVS Orbiter is a hub-mounted brushless DC (BLDC) electric motor. It produces a rated output of 1.85 kW, with a peak power output of 2.9 kW.

The scooter has a claimed top speed of 45 km/h, positioning it as an urban-focused electric commuter rather than a high-speed electric scooter.

TVS is offering two lithium-ion battery configurations with NMC chemistry.

The entry-level version comes with a 1.8 kWh battery, delivering an expected range of 70 km on the European WMTC cycle. The larger 3.1 kWh battery increases the expected range to 105 km.

Both versions are designed to provide flexibility for different daily commuting requirements.

Battery, Range and Charging

One of the key highlights of the TVS Orbiter electric scooter is its choice of battery capacities. Instead of offering a single battery configuration, TVS allows customers to select between two options depending on their daily riding distance.

The scooter supports 550 W charging and can be connected directly to a household electrical socket. According to the manufacturer’s provisional specifications, charging from 0 to 80% takes:

  • 1.8 kWh battery: 2 hours 39 minutes
  • 3.1 kWh battery: 4 hours 33 minutes

Both versions are specified with removable batteries, although TVS states that battery removal is subject to confirmation after homologation.

An optional charging dock will also be available as an accessory, providing additional flexibility for charging the battery on or off the scooter.

It is worth noting that the claimed range figures are based on internal testing using the expected European WMTC cycle. Actual riding range may vary depending on riding style, load, temperature and road conditions.

Features and Technology

Despite being positioned as a practical city commuter, the TVS Orbiter comes with several convenience and connectivity features.

The scooter gets a five-inch colour LCD instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity and integration with the TVS SmartXonnect application, available for Android and iOS devices.

Through the connected platform, riders can access features such as:

  • Turn-by-turn navigation
  • Incoming and missed call information
  • Distance to Empty range information
  • Live vehicle tracking
  • Ride history
  • Live battery charge status
  • Charging status updates
  • Over-the-air updates
  • Anti-theft alerts

The onboard LTE connectivity further supports geofencing, crash and fall alerts, and live vehicle tracking.

For everyday convenience, TVS has also equipped the Orbiter with cruise control, Automated Hill Hold and Reverse Parking Assist. These features are designed to make city riding easier, particularly in traffic, on inclines and while manoeuvring in tight parking spaces.

Chassis, Suspension and Braking

The TVS Orbiter is built around a tubular steel frame. Its suspension setup consists of a telescopic front fork and twin rear shock absorbers.

The scooter rides on a 14-inch alloy front wheel with a 90/80 tyre, while the rear gets a smaller 12-inch wheel with a 90/90 tyre.

Braking duties are handled by a 220 mm front disc brake and a 130 mm rear drum brake. The braking setup is supported by a Combined Braking System (CBS).

The kerb weight stands at 102 kg for the 1.8 kWh version and 114 kg for the larger 3.1 kWh version, including the battery.
