TVS M1-S Electric Maxi Scooter Unveiled at EICMA 2026 With 120 km Range

TVS Motor Company has brought its first electric maxi scooter to production with the unveiling of the TVS M1-S at EICMA 2026 in Milan, Italy. First showcased as a concept at last year’s exhibition, the M1-S has returned with a production ready design, a 4.2 kWh battery and a claimed range of 120 km.

Designed primarily for European urban commuters, the electric maxi scooter combines the practicality of a conventional scooter with the proportions and comfort of a larger two-wheeler. It also gets a 12.5 kW peak output, a claimed top speed of 105 km/h and a range of connected features.

The M1-S is part of TVS Motor’s wider international electric mobility strategy, with the company also showcasing the Orbiter and TVS X at this year’s EICMA.

From Concept to Production: What Has Changed?

The journey of the TVS M1-S began at EICMA 2025, where TVS Motor first presented it as an electric maxi scooter concept. Its return to Milan this year marks an important step, as the company has now developed it into a production-ready model ahead of its European market launch.

Developed in Singapore, the M1-S has been designed around the needs of riders seeking comfortable everyday transportation without compromising performance or practicality.

Unlike smaller electric scooters primarily designed for short city commutes, the M1-S takes a more versatile approach. Its full-size proportions, larger wheels, generous storage and higher top speed make it suitable for a wider range of everyday journeys.

Design and Styling

The TVS M1-S follows a modern maxi scooter design language with a large body, sharply defined panels and clean flowing surfaces.

TVS Motor has developed its styling around three design principles: Presence, Tamed Emotions and Framed Surfaces. These principles focus on giving the scooter a confident road presence while keeping the overall appearance relatively clean and balanced.

At the front, distinctive LED position lights create its visual identity. The bodywork combines angular detailing with flowing contours, giving the M1-S a contemporary appearance without making it look overly aggressive.

The European launch model will be available in Spectre Black, with additional colour options expected to follow.

In terms of dimensions, the scooter measures 1,970 mm in length and 730 mm in width, with a 1,350 mm wheelbase. It gets an 800 mm seat height and 170 mm ground clearance.

One important engineering decision is the placement of its battery. Mounted low in the floorboard, it helps lower the centre of gravity, contributing to better balance and stability.

Motor and Performance

Powering the TVS M1-S is a chassis-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM).

The motor produces 5 kW of rated power and 12.5 kW of peak power. The rated output represents the power available during continuous operation, while the higher peak figure provides additional performance during acceleration.

According to TVS Motor, the M1-S can accelerate from 0 to 50 km/h in 3.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 105 km/h.

These figures place it in a different category from basic urban electric scooters, offering enough performance for faster city roads and regular commuting.

Battery, Range and Charging

The M1-S gets a 4.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack with NMC chemistry.

TVS Motor expects the scooter to deliver a range of 120 km under the European WMTC test cycle, based on its internal testing and current riding mode configuration.

For charging, the scooter supports a 1.8 kW charging rate and takes approximately 75 minutes to charge from 10 to 80 per cent.

It also features an onboard charger that can be used with a household power socket, making home charging more convenient.

It is worth noting that the 120 km range figure comes from the manufacturer’s pre-homologation specifications. The final certified figures may change after homologation.

Hardware, Suspension and Braking

The TVS M1-S is built around a tubular steel frame, supported by a telescopic fork at the front and dual adjustable suspension units at the rear.

It rides on 14-inch wheels with 110/70 front and 120/70 rear tyres. Tyre pressure monitoring is provided for both wheels, allowing riders to keep track of their tyre pressure.

Braking duties are handled by 230 mm disc brakes at both ends, supported by dual-channel ABS. The scooter also gets cruise control, a useful addition for longer journeys.

Features and Connected Technology

Technology plays an important role in the M1-S package. The scooter gets a seven-inch TFT display that provides riding information and supports its connected functions.

It features Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and an onboard LTE connection, allowing the scooter to communicate with a dedicated application available for Android and iOS devices.

Some of the key functions include:

  • App-based starting
  • Remote seat opening
  • Find My Bike functionality
  • Service updates
  • Over-the-air software updates

The onboard LTE connection is particularly useful because certain connected functions do not require the rider’s smartphone to be next to the scooter.

This approach also allows TVS Motor to deliver software updates remotely, helping keep the scooter’s connected systems updated.

Storage and Everyday Practicality

Practicality is one of the areas where the M1-S aims to stand out.

The scooter gets 26 litres of underseat storage, which is designed to accommodate a full-face helmet. When the helmet is not being carried, the space can be used for a work bag or shopping.

There are also two storage compartments at the front. The left side features a glovebox with a USB-A charging socket, while the open compartment can accommodate a 500 ml water bottle or smaller personal items.

Combined with its key fob starting system and app-based functions, these additions make the M1-S suitable for regular commuting and everyday use.

TVS M1-S Electric Maxi Scooter Price and Availability

TVS Motor has unveiled the production-ready M1-S ahead of its European market launch. However, the company has not announced its final pricing or market-specific delivery dates.

The scooter is currently being presented as part of TVS Motor’s international electric vehicle portfolio, with Europe being its primary target market for the initial launch.

As for India, there is no officially confirmed launch timeline or pricing at the moment. TVS Motor has not announced whether the M1-S will be introduced in the Indian market.

The Road Ahead

The TVS M1-S represents an interesting direction for the company’s electric scooter portfolio. Instead of focusing only on compact urban mobility, TVS has developed a larger electric scooter that combines everyday practicality with higher performance and connected technology.

Its production-ready appearance at EICMA 2026 also reflects the company’s growing focus on international markets. Alongside the Orbiter and TVS X, the M1-S gives TVS Motor a broader presence across different electric scooter categories.

The next important step will be its European market launch, where pricing, final homologated specifications and customer response will determine how well it competes in the segment.

For now, the TVS M1-S stands out as one of the interesting electric scooter developments from the Indian manufacturer at EICMA 2026.
